  4.     There's no arguing with Betty Speziale. She calls them as she
  5. sees them, and this August she'll be the first woman ever to umpire
  6. a Little League world series. A payroll clerk in western New York
  7. State and mother of two, Speziale, 35, works about a dozen games
  8. weekly for free -- and has a reputation for being tough. "But off
  9. the field I'm a girl first," she insists. Of her new assignment,
  10. she says, "I didn't believe it would happen. But when another
  11. umpire told me I would never get there, I was determined to try."
